Hi Dr. Murdoch, the display graphics run off the Intel 945 chipset for mobile units. Mine goes up to 1024 x 768 and that is the limit of the chipset. See what chipset your tablet has and that's what makes the difference.
Now I have the older 945 chipset and it could be possible, as things change all the time, that the newer units may have more options if the 945 chipsets have been upgraded to allow this, but in my opinion, if I get it any smaller on a 12 inch screen, I have trouble reading, even with my glasses.
I guess getting old just sucks!
