• Re: The "Affordables" vs. the "Others"
What differentiates Medscribbler?
Sorry just picked this up now, Medscribbler focuses on ease of use - currently our Forms and Documents version has complete PM, document management, prescription writing/printing, office messaging, write on forms, voice recognition...

  • Dead, Klas winner, ac pick, CHITTcert - since 1994 - state customers

Medcomsoft has officially entered the Canadian equivalent of chapt 11 - but are now one step past protection to bankruptcy. They have sold their biling division for $85,000! No one wants to take on the liabilities to save this company - so it is bankruptcy. Anyone want a bunch of useless code for a few...

  • Re: Need help going from Datatel to Amazing Charts: Consultant Needed!

Print labels or a report in just about any format and any programmer should be able to write a script in a few hours to import into an Amazing Charts DB - its a simple MS access flat file. As a MCSE are you sure you want to recommend AC?

  • Re: Article: EHR Meltdown: How to Protect Your Patient Data

Today, all things are possible if you spend enough money. SQL server 2008 costs $1900 with 5 cals for the standard edition. Add the cost of 5 more cals so a doc can open the EMR DB in more than one place without logging out, add another 5 cals at $450 (some pricing vugarities here, approx only) And you...

  • Re: control keys in slate mode
how do tablet PC users in slate mode cope with EMR apps that use the control key? Eg. multiselect from a table. And they don't want the virtual keyboard which takes up too much real estate.
There are so many things in this thread I could comment on but they...

  • Re: Disaster Mitigation - what are your plans??

Scanned files outside the DB present their own problems with performance as the system has to scale up. It is a programming choice depending on the use of the scans. To blob or not to blob, that is the question, for all you programmers. For Medscribbler (and a lot of other EMRs) that have to handle 10...

  • Re: Disaster Mitigation - what are your plans??

Your points are scary. Have you tried to re-assemble a months or more incremental backups? That's why most backup plans include a weekly full back up. At 36 hours it is an unworkable solution. You say "will be" incremental. Backups should be tested regularly by restoring. There are no shortcuts...

  • Re: Disaster Mitigation - what are your plans??

Don't want to knock you off you cloud. The problem with this kind of backup is the weakpoint of data upload, unless the doc pays for an OC internet connection it eventually becomes impossible to upload. Using the best DSL or broadband non OC connection (an OC is a minimum $500 per month) with in...
