• Re: Apple iPhone EMR

Synapse has a web portal accessible by iPhone. So, any EMR that has a web interface should be compatible with the iPhone's browser unless it is old and uses IE specific coding.

  • Re: Where Is Granularity MOST Important?
Graham - you are tagging the reports as they are scanned in and then referencing them in the note by pulling these tags into your progress note?
I used to manually tag results when scanning them in, but now just use the OCR text as tags. As now I can automatically...

  • Re: Where Is Granularity MOST Important?

The first picture shows me in the free text consult mode vs the other detailed mode ( like ecw ) and soap modes for a patient I saw this morning. I then switch to the text tab in the second picture, and the last item on the results table is a scanned result. Single click will show the OCR text associated...

  • Re: Where Is Granularity MOST Important?

Sure. I have a slavePC connected to my 46 inch wide screen Hi-def Sony Bravia. I can work on my notes on my tablet, and look at the results on the big screen .. or switch to the TV channels when there are more important things going on. It's an option for the users .. had no feedback on that. And...

  • Re: Where Is Granularity MOST Important?

Jason neglects to mention that all the consults can be "printed" to a web page so that you can scroll through the endless roll of paper .. I rarely need to do this though.. judicious tagging is what I do. This sounds similar to what Mat is doing except that a web page is much faster to browse...

  • Re: How Does Your EMR Handle Docs?

Synapse uses the browser to view all docs. This allows a slave PC to be setup so that docs show on an a different screen, even in a different room ( though that won't help you much! ). We don't allow inking on scanned documents ... often you need to fax them on again. All scans are tagged, and...

  • Re: Can Your EMR Tag Consult Notes To A Diagnosis?
Does Synapse use SNOMED, ICD9, or both?
Synapse can use ICD9-CM, ICD10, Snomed-CT, Read Codes and anything else those guys in medical infomatics can think of!

  • Re: Can Your EMR Tag Consult Notes To A Diagnosis?

In the basic version the doc adds tags at the time of reviewing the scanned document. Optionally a natural processing module will OCR and extract the clinical concepts out.

  • Re: Can Your EMR Tag Consult Notes To A Diagnosis?

Yes, Synapse users have been able to tag consults and results for a few years now.

  • Re: E-Mailing From Within Your EMR
Having the ability to email from within the EMR is high on my list of desirables. Be it sending a link to a site I visited with the patient during the visit, a reminder, a copy of their follow-up instructions, a list of their meds and so on.
Synapse has this. As well...
